My MacArthur Beach Turtle Tank Instalation

Well after much hard work and nail biting, my installation at the MacArthur Beach State Park is finished and a few days ago Caretta was placed in her new home. She is the Loggerhead seen in my 2nd photo down on the upper left. The new Nature Center had it's Grand Opening a few night ago and I was so honored to have my work displayed so visibly on their new front porch. The composites I created out of many images I personally shot to make the look and feel of the reef located off the Parks's beach.I then turned my giant PS file over to Knaffs Signs who printed it on the material they use to wrap cars.
Today I am going over and later will add an image of the viewing window on the front with Caretta . I am still working on the website that went live this week. I did say "YES" to two new major works. This tank plus doing the Art and Web design on their website. I am so happy "The Friends of MacArthur" gave me the opportunity. The website is live but I am still adding photos to each page so it is a work in progress. If you are in Florida please make a trip to this amazing Park located on Singer Island in Palm Beach County.

Snook Island Opening

Snook Islands Natural Area
Lake Worth
Wednesday, February 29, 2012, 9:00 a.m. is the Grand Opening of the Snook Islands Natural Area.  There is a boardwalk, fishing pier, water taxi and day-use docks, kayak launch, and boat trailer parking area.

Snook Islands Natural Area is located within Lake Worth Lagoon just south of the City of Lake Worth Municipal Golf Course.
From I-95 go east on 10thAvenue North. Go right on Federal Hwy. Go left on 2ndAvenue North. Go right on North Golfview Road. Parking is available in the vicinity of 101 North Golfview Road both north and south of Lucerne Avenue.

What a wonderful tribute Tom Tracy wrote. Thanks Tom!

http://www.palmbeachartspaper.com/1455-photo-artist-moore-takes-her-cues-from-nature.html
Melinda Moore arrived at a monthly roundtable of photo artists in West Palm Beach and pulled from a shoulder bag four or five new travel-photo scenic prints she had quickly matted that afternoon.
They were rich, gallery-quality black-and-whites of London street life, but no biggie: Moore — who comes across as everyone’s favorite aunt who has been around the world more times than anyone else you know — had worked up the prints overnight as a show-and-tell for the Palm Beach Photographic Center’s InFocus study group in June.
Most of the Florida native’s body of photographic digital art concerns itself with the natural world, and predominantly birds. While there are plenty of people photographing wildlife and turning those images into gallery-grade digital art or photo “paintings,” not many people are producing gallery-grade painting.
The Palm Beach Gardens City Hall is showcasing some 50 of Moore’s pieces this summer as part of its GardensArt program. Creative Focus: Photography and Digital Art by Melinda Moore opened June 27 and runs through Aug. 25 in the City Hall lobby. The exhibit features Florida birds and landscapes, jungle cats and elephants, both in straight photographic renderings and through Moore’s texture montage and digital painting composites.
Last month, Moore took Best of Show (first place) at the 15th Annual InFocus juried exhibition of the Palm Beach Photographic Centre in West Palm Beach, which included a $950 cash prize. Moore’s Friends Forever, an image of two elephants embracing each other’s trunks, beat out entries from around the country and beyond. The juror was Atlanta-based commercial photographer Kevin Ames.
