Photo Arts: Good Tutorial on Texturing

 Dear visitors from my recent talks, Thanks for your interest and  I hope you can find some helpful information here about texturing. If you look on the right side and click on the little boxes they will take you to some blogs I follow. Find some good textures and then watch this little video and begin to experiment. You can do a google on utube for more videos too. There are quite a few out there that are helpful. There are many styles of this artform and with some experimenting I know you will have some artisitc fun. I am considering offering a local workshop in the Spring. Recent Presentations I gave at local Camera Clubs.

In December I gave a presentation at Ibis Photography Club in PBG

 and tonight I did a second one at the Treasure Coast Photo Club in Ft Pierce Fl. Both times I was surprised at how large the memberships are; at least 60 or 70 people attended both events. I was a bit nervous, but both audiences were so warm and receptive I soon got over my nerves. There was much interest and question asked about my work and my process of textures I am considering creating a basic workshop sometime in the near future. I would highly recommend you join either of these clubs if they are in your area. Very interactive and informative organizations.

The amazing Russell Brown, Senior Creative Director at Adobe Systems, has worked with the generous folks at FLYPAPER Textures to create a cool new Textures panel for Photoshop CS5 and CS6 Beta.  The Texture panel adds textures to images, scales them automatically, and sets a blend mode – all in one step. You can even randomize the addition of 2 textures at one time!

"Visual Contrasts" Exhibit Coral Springs Museum

Honored that my two pieces "Hanging Out" and "Day at Laguna Beach" will be on exhibit at the Coral Springs Museum in  the NAWA group exhibit.

My image "We Care, Do You?" will be exhibited at Endangered at Wynwood Gallery During Art Basel Week Dec 5th - Dec 7th

Two images juried into NAWA "Broad Spectrum" exhibit open at Northwood University Nov 15th until Feb 13th .Reception Wed Dec 4th.

So honored "Day at Laguna Beach" was awarded "Best in Show" at the Lighthouse Arts "Photo Now" exhibit . Nancy Brown, was the judge and is a very well know commercial photogrpaher. She was one of the first women to make it big in NYC male dominated profession.

Getting my work framed and ready to go into NAWA "Introspections". Two pieces, a bit different than my other work. They are inspired by pictures I took in Canterbury Cathedral, a montage story about Lancelot and Guinevere.Lecture and reception Oct 17th.

I found my picture I sold via Getty in the Audubon Magazine. So exciting!
